This is a favorite treat around our house at this time of year. I stole the recipe from here. Try it! It is to die for. I will be taking this to some neighbors and friends this year for sure :)
Peppermint Bark
- 12 oz dark chocolate or chocolate chips
- 12 oz white chocolate or white chocolate chips
- 8 peppermint candy canes
- unwrap the candy canes and place them in a food processor and blend them until they are crushed into small pieces
- prepare cookie sheet by covering it with smooth aluminum foil
- melt or temper the dark chocolate and pour it onto the aluminum foil and spread it with a spatula or spoon to an even thickness, a little more than 1/8 in thick. Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator while preparing the white chocolate.
- while the dark chocolate hardens, melt or temper the white chocolate. stir in most of the candy canes. saving about a quarter of them to sprinkle on top.
- remove the cookie sheet from the refrigerator and spread the white chocolate in an even layer over the dark chocolate.
- while the white chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the rest of the candy canes on top. press down very slightly to ensure they stick.
- place the cookie sheet back in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow it all to harden.
- once the peppermint bark is completely set, break into uneven pieces by hand.
- ENJOY and make sure to share! :)
