Peppermint Bark

DSCN1875
This is a favorite treat around our house at this time of year. I stole the recipe from here. Try it! It is to die for. I will be taking this to some neighbors and friends this year for sure :)
Peppermint Bark
  • 12 oz dark chocolate or chocolate chips
  • 12 oz white chocolate or white chocolate chips
  • 8 peppermint candy canes
  1. unwrap the candy canes and place them in a food processor and blend them until they are crushed into small pieces
  2. prepare cookie sheet by covering it with smooth aluminum foil
  3. melt or temper the dark chocolate and pour it onto the aluminum foil and spread it with a spatula or spoon to an even thickness, a little more than 1/8 in thick. Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator while preparing the white chocolate.
  4. while the dark chocolate hardens, melt or temper the white chocolate. stir in most of the candy canes. saving about a quarter of them to sprinkle on top.
  5. remove the cookie sheet from the refrigerator and spread the white chocolate in an even layer over the dark chocolate.
  6. while the white chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the rest of the candy canes on top. press down very slightly to ensure they stick.
  7. place the cookie sheet back in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow it all to harden.
  8. once the peppermint bark is completely set, break into uneven pieces by hand.
  9. ENJOY and make sure to share! :)
